Personal Vision with Action Plan

My goal and vision plan for the next twenty years is to become a great lawyer. I desire to have a job that will help people to overcome the challenges within their lives and I can see myself doing this best in the field of law.  I believe that defending and prosecuting people is key to a flourishing democracy and society.  Through this career, I hope to use my abilities in writing and English. Although I am uncertain of which venue of law I want to go into, the field itself strongly interests me.

In order to achieve this goal I know that I will need to attend a good four-year university.  In this university, I will need to major in English and perhaps take classes on Psychology and Sociology so that I can better understand human reasoning and the way that society works. Obtaining good grades will also be essential, as this will enable me to attend a high-quality graduate or law school. While in school, I plan to join many different organizations and programs that involve helping people, like volunteering at homeless shelters, senior citizen centers, and orphanages.  I also plan to continue to do work within my church all throughout college.

I strongly believe that volunteering and being a part all of these programs, will help me greatly in the filed of law. These programs will train and teach me how to speak, befriend, teach, guide, and do business with any type of person.  Skills such as these are crucial to becoming a great lawyer.

While I am in graduate school, I plan to apply for various internships for local law firms so that I can be well practiced and prepared for the real work of a lawyer. I plan to be in law school for a total of four years or until I pass my LSAT and receive my law degree. After, I hope to join a successful law firm and perhaps even become an entrepreneur in my field. If I achieve all of these things, in my eyes I will be living the good life.

In the next twenty years, I hope to see myself at the top of a high-rise corporate building looking out at the city out of my corner office window as an excellent lawyer, who is a compassionate and sympathetic advocate for the community.
